Drifting: short film
DRIFTING is a student-produced (by me) short film that seeks to shine a light on one of the most insidious and often overlooked struggles of our time which is depression, the silent killer. Through intimate storytelling and grounded performances, the film captures the quiet but devastating reality of living with mental illness. It follows a character caught in an emotional undertow, where even moments of connection and offers of help feel distant, unreachable. By showing that support can be present, right there in front of the person who is suffering, yet still remain out of reach, the film underlines a profound truth: accepting help isn’t always as simple as receiving it. Drifting invites viewers not only to witness this internal battle, but also to reflect on the invisible walls depression builds, and the compassion needed to break them down
